Helping Children with HIV in India

—Today, India is home to one of the world’s largest populations suffering from HIV/AIDS

Today there are 2.1 million people living with HIV /AIDS in India. Beyond the statistics, millions have been affected by the disease, including children whose parents are HIV positive or have died of AIDS. Factors which influence HIV rates in India include high level of labor migration in India, low literacy rates, lack of health awareness, intravenous drug use & the use of commercial sex workers in certain urban regions.

The local leaders of the Ankoor Children’s Home have designed a plan to help children who are HIV positive.
