Serve the Children operates the Ankoor Children’s Home in India for children from impoverished tribal villages. The Children’s Home is not a hostel or a boarding house, but a true home where children are cared for with motherly love and concern. The Ankoor Children’s Home was established in 2002. Our work in India is designed to allow underprivileged and underdeveloped children the opportunity for a better life. We assist with their physical development by providing secure shelter, food, clothing, and physical activity. We offer a loving, caring, Christian environment where Christ’s love is shared and taught. While living at ACH, the children attend local schools, gaining a practical education that is unavailable in their home villages. Our hope is that the children at ACH will grow and develop physically, intellectually and spiritually into true followers of Christ who can rise above the oppressions of class in India and improve the lives of their own families and children.
Ankoor Children’s Home is located in the village of Lasina in Central India. We currently serve approximately 75 children at ACH from 6-13 years of age. Children are provided a balanced diet, personal hygiene supplies, beds, clothing, and school supplies. A local physician provides medical care for all of the children. ACH offers extracurricular activities in embroidery, crafts, cooking, and library. The children hold regular competitions in music, Bible quizzes, and games.
