Do you want to take a short term Here’s your opportunity to help out at Serve the Children’s Ankur Children’s Home! Doug Stave, Board Vice President, will lead a volunteer mission team to India for 2 weeks in January 2006.The team will minister at Ankur Children’s Home and visit New Delhi for 4 days.

 Trip Itinerary:

§    Fly to New Delhi with a short layover in Amsterdam; longer layover in Amsterdam on return trip

§    Leave in early January 2006 (date not yet finalized), return in 2 weeks

§    4-day stay in New Delhi at Church of North India Guest House; visit the Red Fort, Parliament 
Buildings and the Taj Mahal

§    Fly Air India to Nagpur; be driven 100 mi. to Yavatmal; stay at the Hannum Guest House at
the Yavatmal College of Leadership Training (YCLT)

§    Visit and volunteer at Ankur Children’s Home 7 miles from Yavatmal

 Yavatmal College of Leadership Training (YCLT):

The College has 3 main divisions: a college to prepare missionaries to the many indigenous tribes of India; a day school with grades 1 – 10 for the local Christians and many non-Christian town children; and the MS Missionary Home, a home for the children of missionaries to tribal people, who are sometimes so isolated that there are no schools for their children in the area. The MS Home currently serves 100 children.

 Activities at YCLT and Ankur Children’s Home:

§    Each team member will have the opportunity to give a testimony to the YCLT college students and MS home students, and to the 80 children at Ankur Children’s Home.

 Approximate Cost per Person:

Our room and board at YCLT, which is less than $10 per day, includes safe cooking. In addition, everyone on the team will need to drink bottled water and eat no raw fruit or vegetables (unless you peel them yourself).
