We are planning
a mission team trip for July 2006 to help with
The Children’s Sanctuary in Jakarta, Indonesia.
If you want more information about this ministry, you can view their web page at
http://www.ywam-orphanage.org/new/index.html. I have also included some
basic information below.
Indonesia - The Children’s Sanctuary is one of 14 Youth With A Mission (YWAM) orphanages in Indonesia. This orphanage was founded in 1981 by Ibu Liudyawati and her husband, Bapak Loudy, and now serves over 160 children who range in age from 1 to 18 years of age. We have 35 full and part time staff who are involved in the day to day operations of the orphanage. Most of the staff depends solely upon donations for their support.
India – “Greetings to you from Kiron and Nalini Gaikwad, and all the children of Ankur Children’s Home, India. Thank you for your prayers and concern for the poor tribal children of India. (Our goal is) to reach the children, care for them and bring them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
In the tribal belt of central India where various tribal people groups are living in the forest region, thousands of children die every year due to malnutrition. According to tribal culture the family life is not stable… (Too many times) spouses run away from the family… Also due to heavy alcoholism or due to lack of medical facilities parents die (at a) young age and the children become orphans. We care for such children in our Children’s Home.
This year 10 more children have been admitted. (The younger children) go to a primary school run by (the) Government in the same village… but (high school children) go to another village (about 5 KM away). We need to buy bicycles for them. We thank and praise the Lord for the provision of school material…to our children. Almost all of them have done (well) in their final exam.”
Join our mission team scheduled to visit India in January 2006.
Liberia - Sackie has returned to Liberia. The containers arrived and we are planning to ship another container soon. Please see list of needed items below.
Tricia Joos is working hard for us in Liberia. She has recently completed interviewing all of the teachers and hiring new teachers to fill vacancies. The children return to school on September 26 at both locations.
We have mission team trips scheduled for June and October 2006. Your continued support means a lot to each of these ministries. We are an all volunteer organization so 100% of your donation goes to the ministry that you support. Thank-you for your generosity.
