Text Box:   All God’s Children School System Director of Education Post Our Mission:  To improve the future of children by meeting their educational, emotional, and physical needs in  a Biblically– based environment. Who We Are:  All God’s Children was the first branch of an American Christian NGO called Serve the Children.  AGC was started in 1997 to offer free education and counseling to children affected by war.  It began to serve child soldiers and then expanded to war orphans and other children who could not afford school.  Serve the Children also has other operations in India and Indonesia. What We Do:  All God’s Children School System has 2 community schools.    One school is in the Sinkor district of Monrovia and has approx. 660 students with a Morning and Afternoon School.  Morning school has Pre-school-9th grade; Afternoon school has 1st-8th grade.  The other school is in 15 Gate-Firestone.  It has approx. 290 students from Pre-school to 6th grade.  15 Gate is implementing the Liberian Accelerated Learning Program, and Sinkor will implement it next year. Along with a free education, students and staff receive a free meal and basic medical care. The Opportunity:   AGC would like to continue the growth it has seen this past year by continuing the position of Director of Education.  The Director would assist the Country Director in the operation of the schools, with an emphasis on the educational aspects.  The great opportunity in Liberia is that the role can be very diverse and is heavily influenced by the opportunities that arise.  The Director’s duties include: evaluating staff, monitoring schools’ operations, and coordinating with other NGO’s and UN.  Other important traits include:  strong Christian leadership skills, willing to take risks, flexible, organized, culturally sensitive, able to submit.  The Director would join an all-Liberian staff of about 40 teachers/administration.  Along with the Board of Serve the Children, the Director works on a voluntary basis with support raised.
